Thanks for the concrit! You are right on the money, I did not understand how to do POV in this story, because it was the first thing I ever tried to write. (There are also a lot of comma splices and overuse of the semi-colon.) And I did try to do something quite like the TV show here, and really enjoyed doing it. But it didn't seem all that popular at the time (to keep all the characters in and do little cases with an overarching mystery) so I abandoned it. It's hard to do and people were kind of "blah" about it (reunion fics and fluffy future fics were all the rage). I think my skill with POV improved a little in the sequel, but there are still a lot of scenes that suffer from my misunderstanding of the technique. Oh well. At least you will have all the characters once again in YLD2.

I think it is possible to view YLD the first as an homage to season one, YLD2 an homage to season two (complicated and messy) and Precipitation an homage to season three (the consequences of what Veronica Mars et al hath wrought). But mostly as I became more serious about trying to write well, I got away from just writing down what made me laugh. There's hardly any humor at all in Precipitation.
