I think if you care about Veronica, it's really crucial to try to see as much subtext in season 3 as you possibly can. I really can relate to the way that she often flailed and messed up in the show, and I often think that that's why I'm so interested in writing about her (and why I tend to take it so personally when people fuss at me to write more fluffy characters).

I'm really trying to write more subtly these days. It's easy for me to write these very plot-driven epics, but it's much harder to try not to spell it out and to have the characters dancing around what they're really thinking (at least that was my intent here, with her little excursion into the ocean).
