One of the major presumptions I'm making in Veronica's character for this is that she experienced an epiphany when everything went to shit. I'm trying to have her still struggle with the feelings that got her into trouble, but a door's been opened for her.

Thank you for complimenting my descriptive writing. I purposely didn't use much description in YLD1/2 and it's new for me to try to depict how Veronica is seeing the world around her.
