I think it's interesting that Jake Kane acted like he hated Veronica when he thought she was his daughter. I suppose we were meant to believe the fallacy that Veronica could try to take "her share" of the Kane estate (except of course legally all she is entitled to is child support until the age of 18). But his attitude toward her is strange. And I like the idea of drawing a contrast between Jake and her real father (which nobody has commented on).
