This is Michael Ausiello, and I’m in Manchester Center, Vermont with Jason Dohring, who’s been on location filming the long-anticipated follow-up to Veronica Mars, The Year of Living Dangerously.

Michael Ausiello: Tell us what’s different this time around. Is is still fun to play Logan Echolls?

Jason Dohring: Well, you know, working with Vanessa Galore has been a real treat. I love Rob Thomas, but Vanessa has a vision of Logan and Veronica together. She really gets it.

MA: I bet it’s great to get together with the cast again.

JD: When we started the show together, it was everybody’s first big break. You know? We were all so grateful, and we were learning together. We were a very tight-knit group. And the show is just an awesome environment to be in. Everyone works hard and wants it to be a success.

MA: How has your experience with ‘Moonlight’ changed you as an actor?

JD: It was hard to see all the fans be so involved with the show and then ‘pfft,’ it was all gone with an email from Alex. Cult shows – they’re a lot of fun, but then when they go away, it’s just devastating for everyone. I was hesitant to get back involved with Veronica Mars...

MA: No! You mean...

JD: Yeah...I didn’t want to get my heart broken again. But when I met with the people at Showtime, I changed my mind and signed on.

MA: How was it to see Kristen and work with her again after all this time?

JD: Well, you know, we’ve always kept in touch. She sends me texts all the time. I’m really thrilled for all her success; she really deserves it. She’s just a great actress; she always hits her marks and knows her lines. And you know she’s the perfect example of someone who works hard for her success. We’ve always had that in common. I’m always trying to sort myself out and not waiting for the world to fix things for me. And, you know, it works. We both believe that you can’t let negativity run your life.

MA: What people really want to know is, when you kiss Kristen, is there tongue?

JD: (Laughs) You know we’re professionals, so I really can’t say. Those scenes with her, especially the airplane scene, were really fun to play. It’s all scripted out, choreographed like a dance, and you’re just keeping the counts in your head and trying to get the lines in at the right time. (Pauses) Oh, who am I kidding. Of course there’s tongue.

MA: You brought a clip from the show. Set it up for us.

JD: Well, you know, right now Veronica’s undercover at a school. They’re really making her life hell, and it’s, you know, really awesome the way they talk about the psychological abuse that goes on in these places. And Logan’s like, upset about it. He’s in an impossible situation where he’s got to hurt the woman he loves in order to protect her. And it brings up all his old bad memories of his father abusing him. So this scene is at the school, and Logan’s just about at the end of his rope. You know?

MA: Okay, let’s watch.

Fri. 3/11/09 very late: Briar Hill Academy, Manchester Center, VT

Logan can't sleep. He wonders if it's his brain refusing to deal with any more nightmares about Veronica and Hannah. In any case, he's been staring at the ceiling for hours. He gets up and throws on some clothes and a warm jacket.

Logan walks around the campus. It's snowing lightly. He reflects that the snow is so different from the powdery-white stuff he is most familiar with from his trips to Aspen. Vermont always seems to be gray and cloudy, even in the middle of the night, and the cold and damp seep into his body. He suppresses a shiver as he meanders around.

He sees someone approaching. It's Alyssa; Logan checks his watch and thinks, What the hell is she doing up at 4 a.m.? When she passes by, he nods to her. She acknowledges his greeting silently and walks on by.

I've got a bad feeling about this. When he's certain that Alyssa has gone into the employees' quarters, he pulls out his cell phone and dials Keith's number.

"Agent Lynley here."

"Uh, hi. This is Logan. Is Keith around?" Logan says.

"He's sleeping. What's going on?"

"Are you...are you monitoring Veronica now?" Logan asks.

"She's sleeping. There's been no audio from her bug since bedtime," Lynley responds.

"Are you sure? I just saw the counselor, Alyssa, walking back from the main building to the employees' quarters. I think something's up."

Lynley replies, "Let me double-check. I'll run back the recording from Veronica's audio feed." There are a few moments of silence, then he continues, "Nothing. Just keep alert."

"We're going to end this soon, right? I mean, we've got enough, don't we?"

"I think so. You're doing a great job. I'm sure Veronica is safe, Logan," Lynley reassures him.

Logan doesn't say anything, worrying silently. Something's wrong. I know it.

"Try to get some sleep, Logan. She's all right, I promise you."

Logan terminates the call and heads back to his room. He lies down and stares at the ceiling again, trying to figure out just what feels wrong to him.

MA: Scary stuff.

JD: Thanks!

MA: There have been some rumors about the ending of the show. I hear there have been leaks, some casting sides and set photos.

JD: Yeah, it’s been crazy. We had to close the set. Vanessa decided to film two alternate endings, so even the actors don’t know how it’s going to end.

MA: And the next episode is a double episode, right?

JD: Yeah, Showtime gave us the greenlight, and it’s worked out really well for the script. It’s been a mad rush to get it done though, so Showtime agreed to let us air it a little later in the week.

MA: You mean, we have to wait?

JD: Unfortunately, yes.

Girl, your evilness surpasses any other evilness in the world.

First, you make me think that JD is really getting an interview from Ausiello. Then, you twist the reality with the fictional world by having JD talk about your fic. Lastly, you make your readers wait for an extended amount of time.

In any world, that spells E-V-I-L! Pure Evil!

Can't wait to see what you have in store for Jason and Kristen, err, no, I mean, Logan and Veronica, oh wait, shit, I'm getting all confused... well, update quickly so I can see what the hell happens next.

I'm not looking forward to this fic ending. It's too good and it gives me something to read on Sunday nights. I'm on bended knee, begging for a YoLDIII.

You know me, I'm always trying to whore out my fic by using an enticing link. Who could resist!! A new interview of JD!! But c'mon, at least we found out that 'of course there's tongue.' (I always knew. When you slo-mo the scenes, you can tell that Kristen is thinking, 'Damn! I'm glad I flossed. Whew!') Plus--I gave you a scene to tease you for the next couple days. This really is going to be a double episode; it's about 16,000 words already and counting, and you're going to thank me for not putting a cliffhanger ending in the middle of it. My poor betas. They are wiped out by my demands on them. One of them had to take a vacation just to get some rest!!

Heh heh heh.

I kind of love this. I was all excited that it was Sunday, then disappointed a new set of chapters wasn't posted, then I read this and now I'm even more excited since I know this wait will be worth it! I like the way you set up the interview!

(Plus, I start school next week so while I DON'T want this to ever end because it's so amazing...I'm glad I won't have to get behind on my schoolwork to read it, er, on the story!)

Yeah, I'm pretty silly. I'm not sure what it means when you are able to make yourself laugh with posts like this. I'm probably somewhat disturbed. Somewhere, Tom Cruise is starting an investigation.

This is a nice way of saying ´you guys have to wait´ but just because its nice, it doesnt mean its not evil. You really got me there for a moment, but i really think its because i read ´Jason Dohring-Location-filming-Veronica Mars´ and then i zoned out.
You are mean! And yes it would be cool to have them finally admiting that there was tongue. How could there not be??!!
Now, i seriously cant wait for the update.

I was actually hoping some of the mean people on my flist who don't read my fic would click on this and say, "Wow, Vanessa Galore is totally WACK! I have to read her fic!"

And yeah, I am evil. I bet you gasped when you saw an Ausiello interview with JD. I'm still laughing.

And yes, goddammit, there certainly was tongue. And groping off-camera. And pounding hearts afterwards, along with tented trousers. Mmmmmm, tented trousers.

Ok, I've been a long time lurker and after your last post on comment figured I should finally comment.
Love the fic. Reading it is the highlight of my week. Don't really want it to end. There is a lack of quality VM fic out there these days and after coming late into the fandom side of VM, this fic is one of the few I've managed to follow since the start.
Also, you are such a tease VanessaGalore. You got me all excited thinking that JD had been interviewed by Ausiello, but alas, it was a twist of reality and fiction. I think Christykq has put it more eloquently than I could.
Absolutely loved it though. Can't wait for the next update. Am thinking that the delay is a bit of a blessing as I can concentrate on uni instead.
Seriously can't wait for the next update.

You better get ahead on your homework, because the next update is LOOOONG.

I have to say, it was pretty fun to stretch my humor muscles today. Oops, I think I just implied that there's not much humor in the next update.

Now, see, isn't it fun to comment?? Everyone's doing it, especially all the cool kids. Don't be a lurker! Be a...wait, that's pretty dirty. Sorry, Logan always inspires pornographic thoughts for me.

Ah, yes, the fake Ausiello interview was back in the old days, when Vanessa was updating at least every two weeks. I'm glad you're going back and checking some of my extras (I need to make a tag for them for people who hoover up the fic and later want to check them out).

In this particular case, I needed the fun of this satire while I was working on the traumatic end of the undercover operation. I remember being completely exhausted when I finally managed to post it.
